Travel Requirements

As of June 1, 2009, everyone from every country arriving in Canada by air, land and sea must have a valid passport or equivalent travel documents. Following are some tips for people crossing the USA border into Canada:

1. Know What ID is Necessary

2. Have ID Ready to Present to Border Officer

3. Have a Note for Children Traveling without Both their Parents

4. Know What You Can and Cannot Bring into Canada

5. Have Your Car Registration Available

6. Be Prepared to Answer Questions

7. Keep the Receipts of Purchases Made

8. Roll Down the Front and Back Car Windows if There are Back Seat Passengers

9. Check Out Border Wait Times Before Crossing.
